Our history

The ROGER family comes from a long line of winemakers from the village of Bué. The earliest records mention it as far back as the 17th century.

In the early 1970s, Jean-Max Roger took over the 4 hectares of vineyards left to him by his parents, which he operated with his wife, Nicole. They also engaged in a trading activity to ensure the sustainability of the business.

Over time, the cultivated area expanded through purchases and leases, reaching 35 hectares in the Sancerre and Menetou-Salon appellations, while the trading activity decreased. Today, trading involves the Pouilly-Fumé appellation and occasionally those of Sancerre and Menetou-Salon.

Since 2005, Thibault and Etienne, two of their sons, have jointly defined the identity and style of the wines. Complementary, they perpetuate expertise and practices that they refine with each vintage.
